Pre-Trial Intervention Information Sheet

Costs:

  • $350 ($100 - Application; $250 - Participation)
  • $25 - each Drug Screen
  • External counseling costs vary by Agency
  • $35 Expungement Fee - to the Clerk of Court, after completing PTI
  • $150 Expungement Fee - to the Solicitor's Office, after completing PTI
  • $25 Expungement Fee - to SLED, after completing PTI

Length of Time:

  • 3 Month Minimum
  • 1 Year Maximum

Eligibility:

  • First - Time offenders of minor, non - violent crimes
  • NO PRIOR General Sessions Conviction;
  • NO MORE THAN 3 "related" MISDEMEANOR CONVICTIONS
  • NO prior PTI
  • NO JUVENILES (under 17 yr.s of age)
  • NO "under 21" gun charges

Requirements may include:

  • Alcohol/Drug COUNSELING (Assessment, Education group, treatment referrals)
  • PRISON TOURS (Mandatory, except for disability, pregnancy, etc)
  • RESTITUTION to Victims (As determined by Solicitor)
  • Payment plans made, not to exceed 12 - month PTI duration
  • EMPLOYMENT (Be employed full time, a student, or working on a GED)
  • URINE ANALYSIS (Mandatory in all Drug Cases, possible with non-drug offenses)
  • COMMUNITY SERVICE (Assigned case-by-case, at non-profit agencies)
  • (Purchased Goods may be donated in lieu of some C/S hours with case manager approval)
  • WRITTEN REPORTS (3 - page reports of 3 actual court cases)

Supplemental Requirements:

  • CASH or PERSONAL CHECKS are never accepted/ MONEY ORDER or CASHIERS CHECK ONLY
  • Referring Agencies are kept informed throughout participation

Transfers:

  • In-State transfers are possible.
  • Out-of-State supervision possible on a case by case basis

Case Management:

Each case will be assigned a Case Manager. The Case Manager monitors all requirements, Drug/Alcohol related compliance treatment and financial matters.
